Laundry room signs

With a new year upon us my goal is to make more posts to my blog. I am constantly doing little projects but am too busy (or too lazy) to post them on here. So let's begin...

This weekend my awesome dad came down and added a new shelf to our laundry room. Afterwards I was inspired to "cuten" it up a little with some simple decor. Here is what I came up with....and the best part was it cost me practically nothing.

I designed the templates for what I wanted to print. (E-mail me or comment and I can send them to you.) Then I printed the templates directly on the burlap.

Then I painted three pieces of wood gray.

Next I attached the burlap with tacks. Because of the wholes in the burlap I hammered them into the wood so the base of the tack is holding the burlap down.

For the lost socks sign I used a heavy duty stapler and stapled clothes pins to the board. To do so simply slide the top of the pin over, staple, and slide back.

Then I attached a  sawtooth to the back of each board...this step should have been done first as it was hard to hammer them in with the tacks on the other side already.

Then I hung in the laundry room to soon be hidden by piles of laundry. :)
